We photographers, we tend to be very impatient when we start our journey. It`s very normal to feel this way. Yet, the goal is just to surrender to the joy of creating, even when it feels hard and like passion and impatience are born as twins.
`cause when you got the “eye” and you got the taste…. but you don’t have the talent to create the kind of photos you are imagining yet… It is frustrating. I totally know how that feels.
But only at first. Only at first, before you really fell in love with what you do and the process of doing what you do. The truth is, you can learn to calm down and just enjoy the whole process. All levels are necessary. Hurry is just a thought and will have no power if you don’t give it attention. In fact, any thought telling that you must be further than you are – are all nonsense. ( I am sorry, but it`s true)
Fell in love with what you do and let go of thinking the end result. Surrender to the joy of creating. There is nothing else anyway. Stop thinking you should already be somewhere else. Let life show you where it leads you and throw yourself to the joy of creating! What can I try tomorrow? Where will I photograph? What props needed? …creating the story behind the photo…. let your mind wonder to the fun side of the process. There is no PRO photographers without experimenting time. (and even then the journey always continues…)
Look back how much you have learned and accomplished already and give yourself compliments and credit for that. Looking back to where you started can give you a clue that you are improving all the time anyway, even if it doesn’t feel like that in the moment.
“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do,
and liking how you do it.” -Maya Angelou
